Homicide & Trauma Scenes

Many victims’ families are not aware that companies such as Emergency Response exist, forcing them to do the difficult job of cleaning up.
Research tells us only about 2% of trauma scenes are properly cleaned by a licensed and insured company. This means that most cases are handled by inexperienced people who often treat hazardous materials improperly — disposing of biological or toxic waste in an irresponsible manner. Traffic & Street Scenes
Emergency Response recently developed the first street-cleaning system. This unit was specifically designed for emergency situations where cleaning of hard surfaces is required. Currently, many municipalities use absorption products that leave behind much of the hazardous material, which is absorbed into the concrete or asphalt. This results in unsafe, unclean conditions that may lead to vehicle accidents and pose health risks. During rainstorms, the remaining product is released and washed down the storm drain systems — further polluting our rivers and bays.
Our equipment combines a high-pressure wash system with a full vacuum recovery and tanking system. Nicknamed the “Hazinator,” it was designed to thoroughly wash and recover spills such as blood, oil, and radiator fluids.
The Hazinator uses a specially designed surface spinner outfitted with high-pressure water jets to blast the asphalt or concrete surface clean. The vacuum recovery system, which is attached to the surface spinner, recovers approximately 99% of the water and debris and then transfers the recovered water and debris into a stainless steel recovery tank. The tanked matter can be easily transported for proper disposal.

The Dangers of Rodent Droppings — The Hanta Virus is a microscopic organism that causes a newly described disease called Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome. The disease is fatal in approximately 50% those who contract it.
Hanta Virus — transmitted by infected rodents is primarily carried by the cotton rat and the deer mouse. It is believed that the virus is released through the rodent’s urine, droppings, and saliva and remains active for a few days. Transmission to humans occurs when dust is stirred up while cleaning or moving items contaminated by rat droppings. The virus then becomes airborne and is easily inhaled.

During an arrest, the offender may contaminate a patrol car with vomit, urine, feces, or blood. MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) is a type of staph bacteria that is resistant to a class of antibiotics called beta-lactams. We use hospital strength sanitizers to eradicate any pathogens and ensure the safety of every police officer.
